Dr. Hellen Nabwala Natu
Hellen Nabwala Natu is the Regional Manager of the Nile Basin Discourse. She holds a PhD focusing on policy and market research from the Institute Agricultural Sciences and Environmental Development, University of Giessen - Germany, her Bachelors and Masters Degrees having been attained from the University of Nairobi – Kenya. She has certificates in various fields and a wealth of experience in policy; citizen and grassroots community engagement discourse; Social - economics of Integrated Water Resources Management; agriculture & development; value-chain analysis; markets and trade; resources management & policy analysis; program & project management; capacity assessment & development; socio-economics of gender mainstreaming in programs and investment projects; water governance and International Water Law for improved trans-boundary water management; public –private - civil society bi-lateral & multi-lateral Linkage in development and governance. She is a member of Rotary International. Her focus is on livelihood enhancement for communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Regional Finance and Administration Officer
Herbert Wairugala is the incumbent Regional Finance and Administration Officer for the Nile Basin Discourse since 2009. He holds 15 years’ wealth of experience in developing, improving, conducting and implementing established managerial, financial, administrative, and accounting programs with an aim of contributing to the organization’s un-matched value. Herbert is innovative in thinking, creatively professional in execution and in decision making. He is currently pursuing a professional course in Accounting (CPA – Level 3) and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration attained in Bugema University – Uganda. He holds a high level of integrity, confidentiality and he’s a very responsive and strong team player.
Ayenew Tessera Fenta
Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Ayenew Tessera Fenta is Regional Monitoring and Evaluation officer for NBD since December 2014. Ayenew has BA and MA degrees in Political Sciences and International Relations from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Previously (July 2013-November 2014) Ayenew had worked for HELEVETAS Swiss Inter-cooperation in the capacity of country programme officer having taken full responsibility for the thematic programme areas on governance and peace, civil society capacity building, and WASH. Ayenew had also worked for the Ethiopian Nile National Discourse Forum from 2006-2013 in the capacity of country programme coordinator. Ayenew has more about 10 years expertise experience in programme planning, monitoring and evaluation in the water sector.
Regional Program Administrator
Jennifer is the NBD Programme Administrator. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Development studies from Nkumba University Entebbe, Uganda, a Diploma in Business Administration from Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY USA and a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from National College of Business Studies, Nakawa – Kampala, Uganda. She has also done a course in basic financial management and accounting. She is currently pursuing an online course in Human Resource Management.
Jennifer has a long working experience with international and regional organizations in which her major responsibilities included administration and human resource management, accounting, procurement and secretarial support. She is a multi-task worker; a team player; passionate with her work and always willing to learn new skills.
Regional ICT and Social Media Officer
Mathias is an Information and Communications Technology Specialist. He was appointed Regional ICT & Social media Officer of the NBD in 2015. Prior to this appointment Mathias worked with the Refugee law Project, School of law - Makerere University as the IT Supervisor and with the Uganda Charitable and Benevolent Teamwork - Lugazi as IT Officer. With over 10 years experience and professional competence in the ICT field, Mathias' exposure is largely in web technologies, enterprise computing and social media.
